Map Geek 01: Down for the Counties (OX version here) utilizes some historic Nebraska county boundary maps. I took maps from 1859 and 1887 and overlaid them in GIMP to illustrate the evolution of the county boundaries through the era of establishing Nebraska statehood.
I also included an outline map of the current Nebraska county boundaries, and I used OpenOffice to create a couple of charts to illustrate county name origins and population density.

In the GC.com version I added an extra waypoint to highlight the nearby residence of Mannheim Steamroller founder/arranger Chip Davis.
